Fall Series Pass

This package offers access to ALL September, October, and November Handstand & Contortion Series (8 series). You will have the option to join live and/or practice with the recordings. Full descriptions of each series can be found below. $600 value.

Fall On-Demand Pass

This subscription includes 90 days access to the on-demand class & series library (130+ contortion and handstand classes plus a variety of other classes). $300 value.

 

Class Series Descriptions

Always the option to join live and/or practice with the recordings.

  • Contortion classes focus on building or refining a sustainable and strong backbend/contortion practice. While contortion can be a scary word, think of this as an exploration of deeper flexibility with a focus on building strength and active flexibility. Each class is 60 minutes long with Q&A after, and you will have the option to join live and/or practice with the recording. 

    Every class will include a total body warm up, strength and conditioning work, and specific flexibility drills. While each month has a unique focus, you can usually expect to see variations of cobra, lunge, bow, wheel, scorpion, chest stand, camels, and more. Almost all classes include splits and oversplits.

    Prerequisite: confidence lifting into wheel pose and some form of consistent movement practice (or have taken Intro to Contortion)

  • Handstand classes focus on building overall strength, balance, awareness, and relevant flexibility for improving your handstands. While every month has a unique focus, Irene will always include foundational exercises like chest to wall handstands. Each class is 60 minutes long with Q&A after, and you will have the option to join live and/or practice with the recording.

    Every class will include a total body warm up, strength and flexibility drills, and conditioning exercises. There will be a variety of drills both on and off the wall to cater to all students, handstand based skill work, and plenty of supplemental strength and flexibility exercises.

Prerequisite: 45-60+ second chest to wall handstand and the ability to jump up into a handstand even if you can't hold it long.

Props for all classes: mat, wall space, 2 or more blocks, blanket or towel, strap, socks, occasionally additional props like a chair or elevated surface may be used. Resistance bands and light weights optional. Not all props will be used every class but it’s a good idea to have them available!


September Series

Irene is leading two intensives this month, so the September series will only have 3 classes each.

Contortion Series: Back to basics

3 classes for $55

Meets Wednesday September 7, 21, and 28 (NO CLASS on the 14) at 12pm EST. Recordings available until October 15.

This month will be all about the “basics” with a focus on lunges, splits, oversplits, and upper back flexibility. There will be an emphasis on wheel pose, scorpion, and cobra, too. Just remember that basic does not mean easy!

Handstand series: Handstand bootcamp

3 classes for $55

Meets Monday September 5, 19, and 26 (NO CLASS the 12) at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until October 15.

This month’s bootcamp is focused on straight lines, entries, and building overall strength. Expect a total body workout with minimal rest. Those with free standing handstands will also be working on endurance holds and transitioning through shapes.


October Series

Contortion series: Bendy inversions

4 classes for $75

Meets every Wednesday in October at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until November 15.

This month is all about bendy inversions and arm balances. While we will be working towards things like split handstands/forearmstands, scorpions, and hollowbacks, there will be a ton of focus on foundational elements including splits, oversplits, and basic alignment. Expect to see some one arm croc work, too! As always, drill will be offered both on and off the wall.

Handstand series: transitions & Stability

5 classes for $90

Meets every Monday in October at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until November 15.

This month is focused on building the necessary alignment, strength, and stability in order to access handstand transitions. There will be a focus on increasing your ability to balance and move while in handstand. Expect to see some bent arm strength exercises to work towards transitions like handstand to crow and other arm balances.

Handstand bootcamp

4 classes for $75

Meets every Friday in October at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until November 15.

This series focuses on building overall handstand strength, endurance, and conditioning with "bootcamp" style drills and exercises. There will be an emphasis on straight handstand alignment, increasing chest to wall and freestanding endurance holds, and building overall shoulder strength and stability with bodyweight strength exercises. Expect a total body workout with minimal rest.


November Series

Contortion series: Frog & Middle split backbends + Forward bending

5 classes for $90

Meets every Wednesday in November at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until December 15.

This month is focused on both backbends and forward bends. There will be a large emphasis on upper back and backbends that require frog and middle split flexibility. There will be a ton of hip and split work, and you can expect to see deep folds, tilts, and leg behind the head, too.

Handstand series: Splits/Oversplits & pressing

4 classes for $75

Meets every Monday in November at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until December 15.

This month is all about increasing relevant leg flexibility for handstands and working towards pressing and asymmetrical shapes. Expect splits and oversplits in every class, leg strengthening, and all the good handstand skills & drills, too.

Handstand bootcamp

4 classes for $75

Meets every Friday in November at 12pm eastern time. Recordings available until December 15.

This series focuses on building overall handstand strength, endurance, and conditioning with "bootcamp" style drills and exercises. There will be an emphasis on getting comfortable in a variety of shapes, solidifying your ability to jump into handstand (entries), and building overall stamina and endurance. Expect a total body workout with minimal rest.
